Via an Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) contract, CSMC undertook renovation project of Dragon Steel’s Bucket Elevators (aka BE) of #1 & #2 Continuous Ship Unloaders (CSU), of which Japanese IUK provided design and major mechanical and electrical components.
1. CSMC has accumulated abundant engineering references in both domestic and overseas supply of continuous ship loaders, capable of offering renovating services addressing customer needs.
2. When renovating CSU, it requires also to cater for normal requirements of the production line, to match with client’s operation schedule, and to complete the job under adverse factors caused by the northeastern monsoon in the Taichung Harbor.
Function test of #1 CSU of the project was successfully completed in December 2022 and that of #2 CSU was successfully completed in October 2023. Both units will elaborate an unloading capacity per hour of 3,000tn iron ore or 2,100tn coal, contributing to stabilizing Dragon Steel’s production and effecting its environment protection.
