Product description

CSMC has implemented the step-free transformation project of the Taiwan Railways carriages since 2016 . Through the transformation of the carriages, the original steps of the carriages have been eliminated and the floor of the carriage passages will be the same height as the platform, which makes it friendly and seamless, convenient and safe for the people.

Project scope
Product functions

Passengers can get on the train with only one step and luggage can be directly dragged onto the carriage, achieving a step-free ride space, so that the baby trolley or the disabled can "easily ride the train."

Special Introduction

When TRA’s TEMU1000 (Taroko Express) dwelling the platform, a rather large gap is formed between car floor and platform floor, and the original movable step also has a height difference with car floor, this increases tripping risks to passengers and obstructs passage of wheelchairs and baby carriages.
In order to improve safety and convenience of boarding and alighting passengers, Mr. Liu Cheng-En, Design Engineer of CSMC, diligently proposed multiple times after understanding actual requirements of TRA, and designed a movable step all by his own, with minimum alterations to the TEMU1000 model, that provides a step-less functionality to facilitate boarding/alighting of infants and the elderly or the disabled when the tilting train stops at a station.
This domestically designed step modification passed durability test and loading test; the modification device was proven to be capable of effectively eliminating the gap between car floor and platform after actual trips of no passenger test runs all around Taiwan, and obtained new model pattern M581074 on 2019/07/21, a stepping pedal for track vehicles. A demonstration of actual strength.
Coordinating with TRA platform elevation reformation project (lifting the original platform height 92cm to 115cm for leveling with car floor), pedal step modification of TEMU1000 Taroko Express started on 2022/09/14; the modification procedure was Depot Construction → Completion Inspection → Test Run →Acceptance Inspection → Start Warrant. A total of 7 groups were modified for this model; completed modification on 2023/05/09.
