2. This storage tank of converter gas adopts the membrane rubber system for airtightness. The single-layered thick shell is used for the body structure of storage tank. Therefore, the storage tank is favored by numerous steel mills because of easy construction and great airtight effect.

The capacity of the storage tank is 60 thousand kL, the height is about 60 meters and the diameter is roughly 45 meters.

Product functions

The steel mill refines steel liquid through the converter. The oxygen blown into the converter will have a chemical reaction with the steel liquid. Converter gas (CO 75%, CO2 14%) generated during the chemical reaction has economic value, and can be recovered and used as fuel. However, the gas recovery pressure for drawing gas from the converter is smaller. It is required to increase gas pressure to the sufficient level via the booster fan, to make sure that the gas can be transmitted to the public fuel gas pipeline and will be available for the entire plant. (The blast furnace glass and converter gas are mixed inside the pipeline.) The time that the converter blows, refines and generates the gas or the volume of the gas generated is not fixed. It is necessary to build a storage tank of converter gas for buffer and temporary storage of gas, to balance the operation between recovery and transmission of converter gas.
