The Yucheng Pumping Station is the largest pumping station in Southeast Asia, Taiwan, and also Taipei City. It is commissioned to drain floods of the Xinyi, Nangang, Songshan, and Daan districts within Taipei’s political center. As it has been over 32 years now since the station stated operations in 1987, pump units and equipment in the station are aged, resulting in low operating efficiency, high exhaust emissions, and noise pollution. The comprehensive review shows that periodic renewal is required to enhance equipment reliability. Automated monitoring systems should also be implemented to achieve unmanned automated flood control and drainage in the flood period to protect the life and property of the public.
